China Music Study Abroad Program

The Schwob School of Music presents a unique opportunity to earn credit in China. Students will explore culture, especially music, in China, ranging from national music to contemporary western influenced music-making. Students study Chinese History and Culture, Chinese Art and Living, Chinese Vocal Music, Chinese Folk Music, Chinese Instruments, and observe and participate in Chinese pedagogical presentation of  musical subjects encountered during their studies.

Program Highlights

The purpose of the program is to expose students to the rich history and exciting contemporary activities of the arts culture, especially music, in China, providing students an intense and substantial international experience. The itinerary includes field trips to the Great Wall of China, Hua Qing Hot Springs, Jade Buddha Temple, Olympic Venues, Summer Palace & Panda Zoo, Xian Terra-cotta Warriors & Horses Museum, Mount Yao and much more.
